The idea
for
this aircraft-concept
was conceived by Chris Ryff
(GRA-CV)
from the Netherlands
who
established
the project almost 9 years ago.
It contains
the development of a unique amphibious aircraft
concept which
has been named "The Brevity".
Encouraged
by a friend
Chris
made
contact with a
manufacturing
company
who was
quickly convinced about the Brevity's
potential.
Due
dilligence made clear that this concept was
worthwhile and merited further development and testing. Because of
these positive findings, It
was
decided to develop the aircraft in a separate project entity,
(the
Brevity Ltd).
This way, the project could
progress more independently and leave also
an
option for others to join in
as well.
Short
description of the aircraft
The
design of The Brevity is based on an innovative concept
that addresses the major design flaws inherent with
current boat-hulled amphibious
seaplanes. The
Brevity concept is principally aimed at professional,
recreational and
militairy users.
The
Brevity
will:
-
carry up to four people,
The
Brevity is a mid-wing configuration aircraft with cruciform tail
and retractable landing gear.
The most remarkable design feature is the arrangement of
the propulsive section - this innovation makes the aircraft
unique in its class and yields technical, aerodynamic and flying
advantages. Proactive
marketing of these design benefits will provide commercial
advantage.
Market
positioning of the Brevity
Given
its innovative design combined with features such as an
IFR-instrument panel, LCD- and GPS technologies, together with
retractable landing gear, the aircraft is to be positioned in
the professional, sport and leisure sectors.
Among
the most important competitors in the market for four-seat
aircraft are designs such as: the Katana DA-40; Cirrus
Design’s SR-20; Cessna Corporation’s new 172 ME and 185;
Lake Aircraft; the Sea-Fire and
Sea-Star; and, products from the
New Piper Corporation.
Associates
SENTER,
a subsidiary
of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, provided a
subsidy for a technical feasibility study into The Brevity
concept. This has led to the development of The Brevity up to
the present day.
The
above is a brief overview of The Brevity project.
We will be happy to provide further details on written
request. For terms

Participation
GRA-CV
seeks entrepreneurial, technical and financial partners for the
development of The Brevity aircraft.
For this purpose, a limited company has been formed.
Immediate
objectives are to complete the design and to build a 'proof of
concept'. In the
following stage, certification and production will be conducted
according to JAA (JAR/FAR-23) standards.
